Halloween

I decided that Landon and I were not going to go trick-or-treating. He was fine with this but I wanted to still make the night special. We watched a Halloween movie, did crafts and then made a gingerbread house. We had tons of fun. Here are a few pictures I took.

3 years later.

Justin left for boot camp Oct 05'. It was my first time being a single (yet married) mom. Landon was so little and I was so scared to do it all by myself. Justin had never been away from us...EVER. But here I sit 3 years later, my husband on deployment and I'm doing just fine. I miss him more then anything in the world, but I can do this. I was lucky enough to go to boot camp graduation and see my new sailor, so proud of himself in that nice little uniform. My header picture was taken outside of our hotel (you got to love Chicago in December!). Its was our first picture as a Navy Familyand still to this day one of my all time favorite pictures. Justin ended up being stuck at boot camp for 4 months after that picture was taken. He had to have surgery and due to some flooding it took months to get it done. He was lucky enough to come home for Landon's First Christmas and even his first Birthday.

3 years later we have lived at three different duty stations. We made our drive from Washington State to South Carolina. A year Later we Moved to New York and now we are in Connecticut. I have come to realize that no matter how long Justin is gone or what state we live in, home is where our hearts are. I don't care where I live as long as its with him. But after being together for 7 years this is by far the longest I have ever had to be away from him, and even though I hate it, I know I can do it and I will continue to do it for the rest of his career.

Man I miss that kid.

Movie Night!

At least once or twice a month Landon and I do movie nights. We get out our chairs, our big white blanket, pop popcorn and get movie candy. Then we watch a movie most of the time its a new one but sometimes we will watch a "classic". Tonight was a classic movie but a new one in our home. Sleeping Beauty. He loved it and so did I. I haven't seen that movie for years so it was fun to sit and watch it with him. We turned off all of the lights and with the weather being so nasty it kind of set the mood for the movie. He covered his eyes when the dragon came and had to get up and dance when Aurora was singing. Its times like today that make me remember why I love being a mom.

Then he got tired and it all went out the window. Lol.

All of our Movie get-up!

Me and Lan.

He had to get candy that his daddy likes, even though he hates raisins. Lol.

Wind and rain.

So today I got our title for Justin's car in the mail. It feels so nice having it paid off after only having it for just over 2 years. Now we just need to get my car paid off. Lol.

Everything is going great here. Its SOOO cold! After being in Bahrain and sweating everyday (since it was 90 degrees everyday) I'm not liking the 50 degree weather here in New England. But besides that everything is great. All of the new stuff I bought is slowly finding its place in the house and I'm glad that my "little" shopping spree is over with.

Justin has been writing me the longest, sweetest e-mails ever. I'm so lucky to have him. I'm so glad that I got the chance to go be with him. A week was more then I ever could have asked for. But now all I think about is laying in bed with him and how I wish I could still smell him. Those are the two things that I miss the most. But this *thing* is almost over with and I will soon have him back in my bed.

I'm off to enjoy the rain and my cup of tea.

I hope everyone has a great day. Be sure to bundle up and not get sick in this weather!

Girls nights!

I have a friend who's husband works with Justin and they happen to be really good friends. Erica and I met before we knew how good of friends our husbands were. She came over here for a party and told me that she hasn't met any wives from the boat and that she really didn't want to. We clicked right away, then found out that we both have little boys about the same age. So the 6 of us are friends.

Anyway, she was going to go to the children's harvest party for the boat today but when I told her that Landon and i weren't going she (well they) decided that coming over here was a better idea. So Erica and Braedon came over. We got pizza for dinner and we played Wii. The boys played upstairs forever (which is always nice) and left us to chat and play. Its so nice hanging out with her. She wanted to know all about my trip to Bahrain and told me many times how much she hates me for going lol. I got a ton of new furniture (pictures are coming soon I swear!) so she spent a little while helping me decide where to put things and the best way to arrange the living room. I had so much fun just hanging out with her. I'm so lucky to have such great friends here.

As much fun as I have had in the last month and a half traveling, its good to be home. I miss Justin so much and I wish I could have stayed longer with him, but I have a lot I want to get done here before he gets home. I hope I will be busy enough for the rest of this deployment that it will move quickly. I feel like seeing him and being in his arms gave me that extra little boost I needed to finish this thing out. Wish me luck!

DOME-Bahrain

Jimmy and Stephanie found this great little Cafe in Bahrain. It's called DOME. We all went there one morning for breakfast. Justin and I quickly fell in love with it and had to go back a few times before we left. They had great coffee and amazing food! Low lighting and not many people made it even better. We were able to sit and talk as we had our dinner, and the staff didn't stand over you so you were in no hurry to leave. Here are a few pictures I took while we were eating.

Everything came bottled. I loved it.

The ceiling right next to our table.

You could even sit on couches while you ate if you wanted to.
It was a little gem of a place. It was right off the base so I'm sure many people know of it. If we ever go back to Bahrain we will go back here and eat I'm sure.

Perfect.

The last morning Justin and I had together we got up early and watched the sunrise from our hotel window. It was so nice to sit there with his arms wrapped tightly around me. Nothing else mattered. It was a perfect end to our perfect trip.

I don't know if you can tell but the sun is coming up over the water so we could see boats passing as it was coming up.

Leaving the place that gave me what I needed. Nothing dirty, just to lay next to him again. I feel like I was doing so good and being strong this whole deployment. until I laid next to him and remembered what it was like to be married....then I lost it.

Bahrain Skype!

Lol not the best picture in the world of Landon, but he was soooo excited to be able to see his dad. It was good being able to talk to Landon when i'm so far away. He screamed when he saw Justins picture pop up on the computer. They talked about everything and even had a little roaring contest. I'm also really glad that Justin got his laptop, now we get to talk more when he's in port.

Today is my last day with Justin. I only have a few more short hours left with him before he heads back to the boat. I have had so much fun with him this past week. Right now we are laying in bed, watching a movie, playing on the computer waiting for roomservice to bring us pancakes.....ohhh the life! I have a few more little things that I need to pick up from the NEX today then its back to the room to be by myself for the night. Who knows that Stephanie and I will do with our time. Maybe I will finaly get myself to the pool.

I'm off for now. I will post more pictures when I get home in a few days.

Pure Bliss!

Tree of Life.

Justin and I.

Stephanie, Jimmy, Justin and I.

Hahaha this was soooo funny!

He was really cute and super friendly!

Wall at the Hard Rock Cafe.

I am having the time of my life here in Bahrain with Justin. We went to the mall here yesterday and Justin boutght a laptop (so due to wi-fi i'm sitting in our hotel room!), which I thought was cool due to the fact that it came with plug ins for every country. So whatever port he pulls into he can always hook his new laptop up to.

We went out today and went to the Tree Of Life and while we were there we saw a herd of camels. Our taxi driver told us that we could walk down there, so we did. We were able to touch and even sit on them! They are HUGE! I Think just their humps are well over 6 feet. They have the same hair as horses just a bit longer. Then for lunch/dinner we went to the Hard Rock Cafe. It was really neat going to one in a different country. Here are a few pictures from today.

Bahrain!

Being with Justin again is so much more amazing then I ever could have thought. Sharing a bed with him and waking up to him is just like I remembered.

Our flight here was great, but VERY long. I think we were in flight for almost 14 hours total. THe food on the plane was so good! The people here are so nice and helpful and everyone speaks english! The sun comes up at about 4am and sets at about 5pm. I watched the sun come up from our hotel room this morning. Everything is brown here and we don't have much of a view, but at night its totaly different. EVerything is lit up and amazing.

Today I think we are heading to the mall and going to a movie. Justin and I woke up at 2am so I think we might turn in a little early tonight. I am enjoting my time on the other side of the world....I wish I didn't have to leave Justin again, but I will try not to think about that now and just love the time I do have with him.

Here we go!

My stay is still going great here in Washington. I love this state. Don't get me wrong I really like Connecticut, but its just not the same. At first I thought it was. They are both very green and definitely have 4 different seasons. After being here for a few weeks I finally realised what it is that CT is missing.....Mountains. They are everywhere here! I love looking up and seeing the snow covered caps. Going up to Canada and being at Whistler for a few days made it even worse. Still I like the East Coast and I doubt we will ever leave.

I'm getting ready to go on a trip. I'm stoked! I get to see my husband! I can't say when exactly I'm going or exactly where I will be. But I will post tons of pictures when I get back! I'm nervous to fly overseas but Stephanie has been more places then me and I'm sure she will have a good idea about what we are doing. Lol oh so I hope.

So wish me luck!
