Visitors! Beaches/parks.

I have a ton of posts I want to put up, so I'm sorry for the upcoming overload.

Last week while my sister-in-law was in town we had quite a few busy days. One of my favorite consisted of three different state parks, two antique stores, the book barn and a seafood lunch. I'm only going to post about a few of those things right now. The food will be on the food quest and the book barn deserves it's own post. Haha.

Mandy was with us and as always was following with a camera. I love when she does this because I get some amazing pictures to send to Justin on maildrops.

The first one we went to had the best real beach I've seen here. The sand was amazing and you could tell it wasn't the brought in crap they seem to use more often now.

The second beach was really neat large rocks to climb on. Landon had a blast following his aunt around all of the big rocks. The most amazing part was the shells. I thought the beach was covered in little rocks, but when I got closer I saw it was really shells! EVERYWHERE! it was so neat!
Those are ALL shells!

The last one we went to was my favorite. While the sand was the fake brought in stuff. The area was amazing. They had the most amazing places to picnic and a nice playground for the kids.

We had the most amazing day walking around and playing in the water. And I'm so excited to bring Justin back to these new places with our new picnic basket.

Deployment recap: Week 5!

Week 5:

Emotional: Drained. I've had family (Mother-in-law & Sister-in-law) in town and we have been so busy. I feel like my mind is trying to play catch up. I'm also packing for a long trip and that doesn't help my mind much at all. I have this constant feeling that I'm going to forget something. Stress is not my friend and it screws with my emotions hard core.

Physical: We've been doing a ton of walking so my feet/legs had a few rough moments. A tendon in my leg has been acting up and that's never fun. Besides that I'm doing good, looking forward to having a workout buddy when I visit home.

Communication: I've gotten quite a few sweet e-mails with him telling me how much he loved talking to me.

What's something fun you did this week: We've done a ton. One of the best things was we took Landon to "Walking with Dinosaurs" it was so much fun for all of us. I didn't really know what to expect, but I was very pleased.

What are you looking forward to next week: Going back to Washington for a visit. I've missed my family so very much and I know they love when we come to visit.

What made you happy this week: Landon has been in a super lovey mood. I've been blessed with non-stop hugs and kisses. Nothing better then love from the little when daddy is gone.

What made you sad/mad this week: Landon had to get a few shots this week. I hate when he gets them in general, but what I hate most is when they try to push more on him then he needs. If it's not required I don't get them for him. Some people may not agree, but that's how we do it, we also did a delayed schedule that they like to give me slack for. Then he had a reaction to one of the shots. It's all fine now and thank God it wasn't a serious reaction.

What do you miss this week: My partner. When things go wrong J is always there to back me up. I miss just knowing that if I need him he's there. It's a little hard when he's under the ocean.

How's Landon this week: Great! He's been so busy with family in town, and it's nice for me to get to do things without him being upset since he has other people to play with.

Pictures from this week
I love going and looking at all the old cemeteries here in Connecticut. Some date back to the 1700's.
Landon at the Dino show with his light up toy. He had so much fun.
Landon and I at dinner. Sitting outside on the patio in the sun. It was amazing.
Our view from the dinner table. This is from our table I didn't zoom at all with my camera. Amazing view.
Landon liked the bunny cloud. haha.

BBC Thanks for the Memories Week 2

I'm posting this from my bed. I've had one hell of a busy week! Having family in town has had me so busy I feel like I don't have time to breathe! Its been a ton of fun, but its been non-stop for two weeks now! I'm not quite done with my reading yet, but I hope I will be tomorrow. You were all right, its getting better as I get more into the book.

Feel free to put your posts up and I will add the linky tomorrow when I get to the computer.

Deployment Recap: Week 4!

Week 4:

Emotional: I'm a little weepy, but I always am after I get to talk to him for a few days and have to go back to not much contact. I'm taking being alone on my anniversary a little better then I thought I would, but I think that's because I have family in town and we've been busy.

Physical: I spent a few days at the pool and I'm burnt like a lobsta'. lol. My shoulders burn and part of my boobs are almost purple, HELLO skin cancer! You would think that being a red head I would know to stay away from the sun.....but I don't. He's to hoping it turns into a tan!

Communication: PHONE CALLS! Monday I spent a good part of the morning in the webcam with the sweets! He called a few times everyday and it was so amazing!

What's something fun you did this week: Oh gosh I have a list of things we did! My sister-in-law is in town and we've been keeping super busy! My favorite things were going to an amazing antique store, we went to three different state parks and saw some great beaches here in Connecticut, we went o the book barn (I will have to post about it tomorrow!), went to Mystic village and we went to some great new places to eat! It's been so much fun having her here!

What are you looking forward to next week: My Mother-in-law will be getting here tomorrow and we have a ton of things planned! Maybe a trip to upstate New York and we are going to go see "Walking with Dinosaurs!" Landon is soooo excited!

What made you happy this week: Besides getting to talk to J, I got an amazing old picnic basket from the antique store we went to. If you know me on here or in real life, we LOVE to picnic. I have a picnic bag that my Dad got me a few years back and while I love it, it's not a traditional picnic basket. I've been on the hunt for one for years and I found it! So for my anniversary, I got it for "myself". It's perfect and I'm so excited to use it!

What made you sad/mad this week: Saying goodbye again. The hardest thing about Justin calling is him not calling anymore.

What do you miss this week: Spring. This weather bites the big one. Too hot today, raining tomorrow. How abouts we keep it in the middle! Say no to humidity!

How's Landon this week: Great! Talking to his dad helped and his Aunt being here is keeping him really busy.

Pictures from this week:

Mandy was with us and as always was taking pictures all day. She got some really great ones that I can send to J!
Me, Landon & Ashley. Until these pictures I never noticed how much Landon looks like Justin's sister. It's nuts!!
My basket! I'm so in love with it! It's perfect! Now to make a new picnic quilt this summer!

Happy Anniversary

To me!

Of course I'm sad that Justin isn't here, but he always does something amazing to help make it easier. I got the most amazing bouquet of lillies and the sweetest card thanking me for the best years of his life. He told me that he bought me a few things but couldn't find a post office in Israel, so they will be mailed home when he hits port again, and told me to get my self something (I found the most AMAZING picnic basket at an antique store......so I got it. It made me think of him and I will always remember when I got it)

Lets look back a little......

Justin and I met on a bus, on our way to play in Seattle with the band at state basketball(my freshman year, his sophomore). My cell phone was acting funny and he helped me fix it. We ended up writing back and forth on our phones for the next hour. We sat together the next three days, I couldn't go the last day due to a dance competition and I was soooo mad. At school the next Monday we found out we had gym at the same time, different teachers but the same time. He came up to me and told me that i owed him.

We talked at school for a week or so, then we started talking on the phone. One day while talking he said that I still owed him, I asked him what he wanted to which he replied "Just you". That was it. I was his, and I have been ever since.

We dated all of high school. We did the school events and the dances (this was my junior year, his senior) and spent all of our time together. He got me a promise ring this same year for Christmas and told me that one day he was going to marry me. And that he did. We were married the summer after I graduated.

My wedding was picture perfect. I'm a VERY laid back person, so my wedding was to. I never got stressed and I never got cold feet. I knew I was marrying the love of my life and I was over the moon excited. Walking down the aisle and seeing him changed my life. From that moment on, it was forever, and I never looked back.
We had our wedding at an old building in our town since our family's are of different religions, we knew we didn't want to get married in a church. But the hall we got married in was amazing. It was perfect and very "us". It was right next to the town museum, so that's where we did most of our pictures.
I love this picture. We are always joking around and having fun, our wedding was no different.
I can honestly say it was one of the best days of my life, right next to meeting him and having Landon.

He's my soul mate and the love of my life. I would be lost without him. Even when he's thousands of miles away, he still knows how to keep me going. This deployment will end, and my love will come home. We will have many more days apart. While I'm sad that this is the third year in a row he's been out to sea. I wouldn't trade our lives for anything. Navy or not, I'm in this for good.

*Thank you Justin for the best years of my life. I would be lost without you. You are my soul mate, my best friend and the love of my life. I knew you were it the first time I saw you and I know you felt the same. I will be by your side for the rest of our lives and I will follow you wherever you will go. Be safe my love. Happy Anniversary.*

BBC "Thanks for the Memories" Week 1

Hey everyone! Sorry I'm late getting this up today. I was planning on writing it when I got back from running errands with my sister-in-law this afternoon, but we were out way longer then I thought we would be!

Week 1 prompt: What do you think of the book so far? Any early predictions?

My answers- I have to say, I'm not really getting into this book. I don't really know why, it's an alright book and the plot seems to be a little different then all of the other ones I've read, but I find it lacking. Maybe for me it's a little hard to believe......"but Kim, you read Twilight, do you think vampires are real?"....haha. I like books that are far out there no real, or make sense enough to be along the lines of true. Uggg that makes no sense at all. I hope it gets better as we go, and I've been told it does. And yes, I know it's proven that things like this really do happen.

PS. I think the husband is a douche hole.

predictions- I think that they are going to meet and fall in love. Go figure.

Hahaha I sound bitter. I really think it will get better as I read more, and I need to sit and enjoy the book not just read to get my pages done, it takes the fun out of it. I promise to be better.

Israel

My husband has been in port for the past few days and it's been so amazing to get to talk to him.
.
Sometimes it's really hard not to get jealous of all of the amazing places he gets to visit, but he works hard and deserves to be rewarded. I always tell him that I won't get too jealous if he 1- Gets me something from every port, even if it's just a postcard and 2- If he takes enough good pictures that I have a good amount to pick from when I pick my two for the wall (something I started last deployment. Two pictures from every port go in a side by side frame and hang above the couch in the living room). So far he has lived up to both of these things.
.
I was awe struck when he told me they were pulling into Israel. No one has pulled in for a few years and it was exciting to go somewhere new. I think the most amazing part was that he knew he would get to take a walking tour of Jerusalem. Something he never expected to do in his lifetime let alone in his early twenties.
.
I wish I had longer to talk to him and hear exactly where every picture was taken, but time was limited. I will try my best! These are only a few of the pictures he sent me. I didn't put them all up mostly because he did take a ton, but these are a few of my favorites. I need to decide which two I want to hang, I think I have an idea but I don't know for sure.

This is a garden they went to a few times. He said he took some amazing pictures of it at night when it was lit up, but due to a not so great Internet connection and limited time, they will have to wait to get to me.
He said the garden was amazing and the view was spectacular. The one of the plant behind the gate was him facing one way, when he turned around it was over looking the city and the ocean. I can't imagine how beautiful it was.

I want to say this picture was taken on his tour of Jerusalem, but I can't know for sure until I talk to Justin again.

They left early in the morning to head to Jerusalem. The tour was over 6 hours of walking he said. They started in the Desert where Jesus walked from Egypt and moved into the city. They saw where the last supper was, where Jesus was prepared for Crucifixion, where he was crucified and even his tomb. He said it was the most amazing thing he's ever done and that he's never felt the spirit like he did that day.

I won't post all of the pictures he took, but I will post a few that I love.

The Garden of Gethsemane. These trees are over 2500 years old. He said it was such a beautiful place and it was one of the most amazing places he went.
He took a picture of Jesus' tomb, but for some reason this one spoke to me. It was right above it. It's like they are still looking down now on this very spot. I'm almost positive this will be one of the pictures I hang on my wall.

I've been talking to Justin on the phone off and on for a few days. Most of the time our conversations wouldn't last more than an hour, but I'm fine with that. I would take 3 one hour calls in one day rather than 1 three hour call. Then this morning he called bright and early for me to get on skype.

We got to talk for about a half hour just the two of us until Landon woke up. Once he came down I couldn't get a word in. I love watching them together. Even though Justin leaves often, they are still so close. They have a bond that I can't imagine being stronger.

Of course I got a few pictures of J while we were on skype, I don't know a wife who doesn't when they skype with their husbands. lol. He smiled and waved and even blew us a few kisses.
He drew Landon a picture while we were talking. It's of them together with a submarine in the back.

After talking for an hour he had to go catch his bus. It was sad, but I was happy with the time I got. Little did I know he would call again! The bus came early and they missed it. Haha. So they yanked Internet from the hotel behind them and we got to talk for another hour! It was the perfect amount of time that I needed! He was even able to get on here and look at all the things we've done since he left! Gosh I'm glad I started this for him. Haha.
This is J and his friend Dave. I love Dave and he's one of the guys I always make a ton of cookies for when they leave. They were laughing at some of the pictures I had up on here somewhere. I loved just getting to chat while they waited around.

Landon loved getting to see his dad, and while the Internet connection sucked and was $20 a day! It was so nice to get to see him. I miss him so much and can't wait for him to be home, even if it is a long way off.
