Girls nights!

I have a friend who's husband works with Justin and they happen to be really good friends. Erica and I met before we knew how good of friends our husbands were. She came over here for a party and told me that she hasn't met any wives from the boat and that she really didn't want to. We clicked right away, then found out that we both have little boys about the same age. So the 6 of us are friends.

Anyway, she was going to go to the children's harvest party for the boat today but when I told her that Landon and i weren't going she (well they) decided that coming over here was a better idea. So Erica and Braedon came over. We got pizza for dinner and we played Wii. The boys played upstairs forever (which is always nice) and left us to chat and play. Its so nice hanging out with her. She wanted to know all about my trip to Bahrain and told me many times how much she hates me for going lol. I got a ton of new furniture (pictures are coming soon I swear!) so she spent a little while helping me decide where to put things and the best way to arrange the living room. I had so much fun just hanging out with her. I'm so lucky to have such great friends here.

As much fun as I have had in the last month and a half traveling, its good to be home. I miss Justin so much and I wish I could have stayed longer with him, but I have a lot I want to get done here before he gets home. I hope I will be busy enough for the rest of this deployment that it will move quickly. I feel like seeing him and being in his arms gave me that extra little boost I needed to finish this thing out. Wish me luck!

DOME-Bahrain

Jimmy and Stephanie found this great little Cafe in Bahrain. It's called DOME. We all went there one morning for breakfast. Justin and I quickly fell in love with it and had to go back a few times before we left. They had great coffee and amazing food! Low lighting and not many people made it even better. We were able to sit and talk as we had our dinner, and the staff didn't stand over you so you were in no hurry to leave. Here are a few pictures I took while we were eating.

Everything came bottled. I loved it.

The ceiling right next to our table.

You could even sit on couches while you ate if you wanted to.
It was a little gem of a place. It was right off the base so I'm sure many people know of it. If we ever go back to Bahrain we will go back here and eat I'm sure.

Perfect.

The last morning Justin and I had together we got up early and watched the sunrise from our hotel window. It was so nice to sit there with his arms wrapped tightly around me. Nothing else mattered. It was a perfect end to our perfect trip.

I don't know if you can tell but the sun is coming up over the water so we could see boats passing as it was coming up.

Leaving the place that gave me what I needed. Nothing dirty, just to lay next to him again. I feel like I was doing so good and being strong this whole deployment. until I laid next to him and remembered what it was like to be married....then I lost it.

Bahrain Skype!

Lol not the best picture in the world of Landon, but he was soooo excited to be able to see his dad. It was good being able to talk to Landon when i'm so far away. He screamed when he saw Justins picture pop up on the computer. They talked about everything and even had a little roaring contest. I'm also really glad that Justin got his laptop, now we get to talk more when he's in port.

Today is my last day with Justin. I only have a few more short hours left with him before he heads back to the boat. I have had so much fun with him this past week. Right now we are laying in bed, watching a movie, playing on the computer waiting for roomservice to bring us pancakes.....ohhh the life! I have a few more little things that I need to pick up from the NEX today then its back to the room to be by myself for the night. Who knows that Stephanie and I will do with our time. Maybe I will finaly get myself to the pool.

I'm off for now. I will post more pictures when I get home in a few days.

Pure Bliss!

Tree of Life.

Justin and I.

Stephanie, Jimmy, Justin and I.

Hahaha this was soooo funny!

He was really cute and super friendly!

Wall at the Hard Rock Cafe.

I am having the time of my life here in Bahrain with Justin. We went to the mall here yesterday and Justin boutght a laptop (so due to wi-fi i'm sitting in our hotel room!), which I thought was cool due to the fact that it came with plug ins for every country. So whatever port he pulls into he can always hook his new laptop up to.

We went out today and went to the Tree Of Life and while we were there we saw a herd of camels. Our taxi driver told us that we could walk down there, so we did. We were able to touch and even sit on them! They are HUGE! I Think just their humps are well over 6 feet. They have the same hair as horses just a bit longer. Then for lunch/dinner we went to the Hard Rock Cafe. It was really neat going to one in a different country. Here are a few pictures from today.

Bahrain!

Being with Justin again is so much more amazing then I ever could have thought. Sharing a bed with him and waking up to him is just like I remembered.

Our flight here was great, but VERY long. I think we were in flight for almost 14 hours total. THe food on the plane was so good! The people here are so nice and helpful and everyone speaks english! The sun comes up at about 4am and sets at about 5pm. I watched the sun come up from our hotel room this morning. Everything is brown here and we don't have much of a view, but at night its totaly different. EVerything is lit up and amazing.

Today I think we are heading to the mall and going to a movie. Justin and I woke up at 2am so I think we might turn in a little early tonight. I am enjoting my time on the other side of the world....I wish I didn't have to leave Justin again, but I will try not to think about that now and just love the time I do have with him.

Here we go!

My stay is still going great here in Washington. I love this state. Don't get me wrong I really like Connecticut, but its just not the same. At first I thought it was. They are both very green and definitely have 4 different seasons. After being here for a few weeks I finally realised what it is that CT is missing.....Mountains. They are everywhere here! I love looking up and seeing the snow covered caps. Going up to Canada and being at Whistler for a few days made it even worse. Still I like the East Coast and I doubt we will ever leave.

I'm getting ready to go on a trip. I'm stoked! I get to see my husband! I can't say when exactly I'm going or exactly where I will be. But I will post tons of pictures when I get back! I'm nervous to fly overseas but Stephanie has been more places then me and I'm sure she will have a good idea about what we are doing. Lol oh so I hope.

So wish me luck!

Ugh.....

I'm sick. Everyone here has a cold. I hope it ends quickly!

I'm having a great time visiting my family in Washington. I'm liking it so much, that I'm staying an extra week. My mother doesn't have to work so its great getting to spend every day with her. She is also going to fly home with me and spend a week at my place with Landon and I.

I took a 3 day trip up to Whistler, Canada with my best friend Sheena. It was just the two of us and it was exactly what I needed! We laughed, we cried and we stayed up till all hours of the night. We had an amazing room! It was more like an apartment then a hotel room. We did TONS of shopping and I spent WAY more then I should have. I got some really great stuff at some stores I doubt I will find in the states. I also got gifts for a lot of people so I don't feel so bad about my lack of control over my spending. Lol. I have some great pictures to post once I get back home, my camera doesn't hook up to the computer here. Bummer I know.

Justin is doing good. He cut his arm and had to get his first set of stitches, poor kid. If this deployment is taking a toll on him he sure does a good job at hiding it. He never tells me the bad stuff, only the good. I know it must be hard on him, as it is for me. But I think he doesn't want me to see how difficult it is for him. He's mushy and tells me how much I mean to him and how much he misses me.....so I guess I should be happy with that. I just worry about him. I feel like his mother sometimes. *sigh* I miss him. Six months can't go by fast enough.

Sunsets and wonderfulness

Landon, Mandy and I all went to the park again to take some pictures to send to our boys. I think we are going to make it a monthly thing. It was so much fun walking around, taking pictures and watching the sun set. Here are a few of my favorites!

I have also been getting e-mails from Justin frequently and long ones at that! He gave me the go-ahead on going to see him! Who knows when that will be but I went and applied for a passport today! I'm so excited, I miss him so much!
*
I have been reading a lot the past few days (staying up until 4 am!). I have been reading the Twilight series and oh my gosh I can't put them down! I love me a good book, but these are 500-800 pages each!
*
My mother-in-law will be here in a few hours. So I will be off to Washington on Tuesday. As of right now we are going to be there for 2 week, but I think I might extend and stay a little longer. No idea yet.

Did it!

Ok I made my new blog! Go on over and check it out!

http://sproutsandsparkles.blogspot.com/

Hello rain!

Time is really starting to fly by! Mandy and I have so many things planed for this week, its going to be so much fun! We are going to be doing TONS of shopping! My mother-in-law will be here on Friday. She will stay here for a few days and then fly back to Washington with Landon and I. I am so grateful that she is going to be flying with us since I have never flown alone with Landon. We have so many things planed to do here before we leave then once I get home it will be non-stop! I have my sisters wedding the Friday after I get in then the next week my best friend and I are off to Whilster, Canada! It will be a girls only trip (the first I have ever taken!). I feel like I just got that extra little push that I needed to keep going strong. By the time I get home from visiting family so much time will have gone by! I will only be gone 2-3 weeks but it seems like everything is happening at once.

When I get back we will have Halloween, then Thanksgiving (which Casey and I are going to NYC for), then Christmas and my birthday! I have so much to look forward to! Its great!

I miss my husband more and more everyday but I am so thankful for all of the great friends I have. I know I couldn't do this without you! Now its time to sit back, drink some tea and wait for Hanna to blow over.

I love him!

Little back ground then my story for today.

When Justin and I started dating it was a normal 14/15 year old relationship. Which means we didn't really go on "dates". For our first real date (after we had been together for about a year) Justin took me to Pike Place Market in Seattle. We walked around all of the shops, watched the fish throwing and did a lot of laughing. He bought me flowers from a street vendor and then we went to dinner at the Cheese Cake Factory. After all of that we got Carmel apples and rocky road fudge and walked around by the water. It was a perfect day. So now every time we go somewhere like pike place we get Carmel apples and fudge...its our "thing".

So today my 3rd gift came. Rocky road fudge! It was so sweet of him. He cracks me up. I doubt I will be able to finish it by myself but that's alright. Once again it was the card that got me, but this time not in a sad way more of a funny one. It said...

Hey Babe
I'm Re-enlisting today
so I figured you could
celebrate the money.....share with Buddy.

I love you.
Justin

Hahaha I wish I was there with him to watch him re-enlist. Even if its not a big deal I feel like I'm missing everything. I can't wait to see him again.

Watch these.

Go here and watch t his first.

Again I suck.

I have been so out of it. Just not here.

The boys are silent. I was sad at first, but then the thought of "I don't have to run to check my e-mail every morning" was nice. BUT!!!! I have gotten 2 e-mails in the past few days. They are so sweet, just him telling me to keep e-mailing him and that he can't wait to be home. Also he sent me the Dr. Ivan e-mails...hahaha Sam you know what I'm talking about! I told him while he was in port that I wanted to hear about all of the funny things that happen on the boat, and he listened (shocker!).

Landon and I have been doing well. We did a slip-n-slide with Mandy yesterday. We had 50ft of tarp, a baby pool, 2 bottles of soap and 2 hoses. Along with 4 adults and Landon it was a great day! I have never laughed so hard in my life! Here are the pictures that I took off of Mandy's blog!

Besides the normal being a mom stuff, I have been hanging out with friends constantly. It has been so great being surrounded by such great people. I got to talk to Justin a lot while they were in port and that is always nice. I also got a package in the mail from him today! It had quite a few things in there for Landon and a few small things for me, its the sweet notes he puts in that always get to me. Landon loves getting things from his dad, and Justin has kept the theme of soccer in all the ports so now Landon has a jersey from every country his dad has gone to. Landon also got his gift for September in the mail today it was a USC football jersey with a note that said "Lan- wear this every Saturday to show your team pride, I love you. -Daddy" I cried....Landon looked at me like I was a freak. Justin said my gift will come soon but he doesn't want me to know when. All I ever think about is how stinking much I miss him. This thing can't be over quick enough.

Yeah I almost died....
Mandy did to!
Landon LOVED IT!
Not so great idea....didn't end well. Massive grass burn.
The pool helped a little. Notice the black futon mattress? Yeah it saved a few lives that day. It was covering a big ol' utility pole. Bad things would have happened without it. Stay tuned for winter sledding down the same hill!
