When J is getting ready to deploy we always try to do as many family fun things as we can. I saw that the circus was coming and knew that I wanted to take Landon. J was underway when I bought tickets but we were able to figure out a date before all the good seats were taken (we were in row KK. lol)
We got up early and got lunch for the road, then we were on our way to Rhode Island. Landon had no idea where we were going and it was so fun to watch his face light up when we told him. We got to the show an hour early to watch some of the performers. Landon didn't want to meet any of them but he had a great time watching them up close. My favorite part was watching the elephant paint. lol.
The show was really good. I do have to say that I was a little disappointed. When I was little I went to this same circus, but it was a CIRCUS, now it's more of a performance then a circus. They dance and sing songs and do all these little acts that I felt weren't in the true circus form. While they had the animals and did some of the normal tricks, it wasn't all about them like I was expecting. The animal parts of the shows were quick and basic. I dunno, I guess I wanted it to be like it used to and was shocked when it wasn't.
We really did have a great time and I'm so glad we did it. We had really amazing seats and we were so close to it all. Landon had the most amazing time and is still talking about it.
Here are a few pictures from the show.
Here are the pictures of us. A few were taken before the show on the floor watching the performers, the others were taken at intermission.
