BBC!!

Read pages 1-59 (stop when you get to chapter 4) for this week. It's shorter since some people are just now getting their books. I wanted to make it easier on them.

I will be gone for the weekend so Casey is going to be guest hosting this weeks prompt. She will also have the chapters to read for next week on her post so make sure you check her page on Thursday!

San Juan Islands!

We took a day trip out to the San Juan Islands. We had a lot of fun, but it's sad to say that by far the best part was the ferry ride. The kids had a blast and I LOVED all of the amazing views. It's taken me coming back for the summer to realize just how lucky I was to grow up in such a beautiful place.

This was our view from the car while we were waiting for the ferry to come. It was going to be a while so we decided to go to the beach for a few.

Landon & Shayla playing at the beach. They get along so well!

Another not so great picture(in defense my MIL SUCKS at taking pictures of people!). But the view is great! haha.

Driving onto the ferry!

Landon & I outside a while into the ferry ride. The views were breathtaking and the kids loves that we were on a boat.
It was a little windy, but they didn't care!

The views....well, just a few of them.
Beautiful. Right?! I loved it. I have so many pictures from on the boat, but I don't want to add that many more on here...it's already boring enough.

We drove around the Island for a while just looking at all the sites. The kids crashed once we hit land again (and I don't blame them) so my MIL and I just drove and enjoyed talking and the sites in peace.

It seemed like no matter where we were on the Island, the water was sparkling.

Beautiful view.....

...close up of the sign. I love this state! lol.

We rode the ferry back over and went to dinner (on my food quest tomorrow). then went to a few more touristy look out places. it was a really great day.

Deception Pass!

We've been doing so many fun things and I haven't really been posting about them. So, this week I'm going to post all about the fun we've been having! Some of the post (like this one) are a bit picture heavy. Sorry.

First up. While fresh in my mind is.....Deception Pass!

I haven't been since Landon was about 5 months old. So when we were driving around I asked my MIL if we could stop and walk around. Landon, my niece Shayla, my MIL and I walked around for a few hours. We went under, over and around the bridge. While we were there we also got to see the most amazing sunset over the water.

The sign you see when you get on the trails that go under the bridge.

Our view from the trails. You see all the logs down there? That's where we took Landon on his first real beach trip.

Walking under the side of the bridge.

Aren't the view AMAZING! I took this picture while we were walking over the top of it.

The bridge is amazing. It's 180 feet high from water to roadway....and it's not for the faint of heart. I got dizzy walking over it and I don't even have a problem with heights!

View from the side....

...walking under....

...other side! I love this picture. I think it's my favorite that I took all day.

Not the best picture in the world, but we had been walking for quite sometime. lol.

We also went down to the beach and drove around the campgrounds a little bit. It was so much fun and I'm so glad we got the chance to go out there for the day. It's a place that is definitely worth going to if you like to hike around. They have a ton of different trails that you can take.

BBC "The Friday Night Knitting Club" Start

A friend is mailing me my copy of the book and I'm sad to say it's not here yet, I thought it would be so I was holding off on posting. So I don't have the chapters for us to read yet, and since most of you read on e-readers it would be hard for someone else to figure out how to make it exactly even. BUT if someone can tell me how many chapters it has we can go from there until I get my book later this week.

Since we are just starting a new book, I wanted to do something different.  Fill it out on your page and link back here!

A getting-to-know you....book style!!

1. What is your favorite book? Or top 3?

2. If you could live in any book what would it be? why?

3. Whats a book you really want to read?

4. Is there a book that reminds you of yourself or your life?

5. Whats a book you want to read but have had a hard time getting into?

6. What book(or series) do you often recommend to others?

7. What book do you feel is often recommended and you have no idea why?

That's all I can think of. Add more questions to your page if you want people to answer them there.

Deployment Recap: Week 8!!

Week 8:

Emotional: Great. Being home has helped me quite a bit. I did have a little mini-cry at the races on Saturday. Everyone stood up and sang the song....gosh I can't remember the name(pathetic since it moved me so much. right!?)....proud to be an American or god bless the USA? Hearing everyone sing it made me a little weepy. I truly am proud to be an American.

Physical: I'm sick! I went running a few times this week and went on a few bike rides...but now my throat is on FIRE! I hope I kick this soon so I can start running again.

Communication: A small handful of e-mails and 2 packages!!!! He got me some of the most amazing things I have ever seen. I'm so very blessed.

What's something fun you did this week: I got to meet my new baby niece! We got to the hospital right after she was born and got to spend a good amount of time with them.

What are you looking forward to next week: My MIL and I are going to go explore the San Juan Islands for a day. It's going to be so much fun!

What made you happy this week: I made myself a new "Nonnie" they are the most amazing things EVER and I needed a new one. I also made Landon one that he loves.

What made you sad/mad this week: My niece Taylor! Shes at that great ol 12. Shes mouthy and nasty. Poor girl is changing and doesn't have her mom around to help her. Her dad is doing all he can and my mom and sister try to help, but it's got to be hard on her. Her mom would know exactly how to handle it.

What do you miss this week: My sister. Being with her kids and my brother-in-law makes me miss her extra. I miss just hanging out with her. I'm hoping to go out to her grave site soon and put some nice flowers down. I could use the time with her.

How's Landon this week: He's doing good.  He really likes being out here and having so many people play with him. He's a lucky kid.

Pictures from this week:

Physical: Same ol' same. I'm going to start running every morning, I just need to DO IT. I've been slacking.

Sorry!

We went camping out at our property this weekend. We don't have Internet and I thought I could use my phone to post on here, but my connection was only good enough to post on facebook here and there.

I have a deployment recap I will get up in just a bit (I will back post it) and I have to get the BBC caught up. I'm sooooo very sorry BBC ladies, I've been slacking big time. I will post for us to vote and we can start on the next book as soon as you would like. I will be better and I PROMISE that this is not the end of the BBC (Jennie- I'm not pulling a QOTBC. lol)

Not that I'm back to the house and settled, regular posting will continue.

Deployment Recap: Week 6!

Week 6:

Emotional: Great. We spent 5 days out at our property on the river. It was so relaxing and it was great to be with ALL of the family. It was some very needed down time.
Physical: Ehhhhh pretty good for sleeping on an air mattress for quite a few nights. I'm covered in bug bites though.

Communication:  Great!! We've been talking to J everyday for a few days and it's been amazing!!!! He's always so sweet and over here I'm waking up to his calls so that's even better.

What's something fun you did this week: I got to go with my best friend to her ultasound to find out the sex of her baby. She didn't want to know right then since her husband couldn't be there, so I got to come up with a fun way for them to find out together. It was so amazing to be apart of something so special to them.

What are you looking forward to next week: hanging out with my momma and maybe going tothe Zoo with the whole family.

What made you happy this week: Talking to J and spending some time with the bestie!

What made you sad/mad this week: My moms damn dog barks at EVERYTHING. Poor blind(and deaf) dog is driving me nuts! lol (he's barking at the wall as we speak)

What do you miss this week: J being with us at all the family functions. I'm used to sleeping in the tent with him.....not by myself.

How's Landon this week: Great! His cousins are his best friends and he's loving every second of time with them. He's also spending tons of time outside here since my parents have the land and we aren't really near anything, I feel safe with him outside here.

Pictures from this week:

I got to give my niece her first Otter Pop. She LOVED it!
View from our river property. I really love it out there and I feel so blessed to have it.
Fireworks we lit before the 4th. It was a great display!
